Cookies & storage policy

Converter storage

Formatly does not add advertising or analytics cookies. The conversion allowance is held server-side. Formatly sets two essential, signed first-party cookies, __Host-formatly-device and __Host-formatly-session, for browser recognition and one active free session. They contain random tokens, expire after 30 days, and use Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite protections. They are separate from provider sign-in cookies. Blocking them prevents free conversions and Ready downloads. Local storage remembers your last tool, quality, size target, saved Ready applications and optional usage-count choice on this device; it does not store file contents. Ready may keep settings in session storage to restore them after sign-in. Saved applications can be deleted on the Ready page. Clear site data in your browser to remove these preferences. Files and outputs are held in browser memory during the session; downloaded files remain on your device.

Hosting access

The hosting platform may use essential authentication or security cookies to control access to this private site. These are separate from the converter. Your browser can manage cookies, but blocking essential cookies may prevent access.

Future changes

Ready offers optional daily usage counts, off by default. Use Allow usage counts or Keep usage counts off on the Ready page to change your choice. This feature uses a local-storage preference, not analytics cookies, and sends fixed event names without files or filenames. Requested feedback is sent only when you press a feedback button. See Privacy for data details. Advertising and payment integrations are not enabled.
